Church Father's Camp

“Fight on, Pray on, we’re gaining ground! Glory, Hallelujah!”

Strong men make strong families, strong families make strong churches, strong churches make strong nations

The Lord is building his church, each and every day since his ascension he has been preparing the bride for the Day. He’s moved kings and nations over history and raised up men that, by faith, shook the world. We want to honor those men that came before us, our Church Fathers, as we look back at their lives and what God has done through them. The building, the fights, the sacrifices to bring our Father the glory due his Name. So, the “church fathers” at CTL take one “Church Father” each year and spend time together growing and challenging each other as we pass the baton from one generation to the next, a sword in one hand, a trowel in the other.

2025 - John Huss

"Be the Goose!"

[At his martyrdom] “You may cook this goose (himself) but one hundred years from now will arise a swan (Luther) that you will neither catch nor boil!” (’Hus’ means ‘goose’)

Focusing on being content to prepare the way for the next generation. We may never build the temple (David), but our sons could (Solomon). Work hard where you are and be the goose!

2024 - St. Athanasius of Alexandria

“If the world is against the truth, then I am against the world.”

Focused on holding tight to the truth and pressing into covenant fidelity.

2023 - St. Boniface

“Chopping down the idols of darkness”

Focused on taking a stand against the idols of this world. Laying down our lives for the good of another.
