"Gospel" literally means "Good News", everywhere you go you can hear gospel. From people you know, books you read, and news you watch: but we want to tell you what the Bible says about the good news
There is one God. He is the Divine artist who made the heavens, the earth, and everything in them. He is the Creator and made every creature, but with humanity gave something unique that He did not give to the rest of creation: His image. He gave humanity personhood. He made male and female. They both have dignity, value, worth, and purpose.
Every creature and thing in creation was made to praise, honor, and glorify God perfectly, but our first parents, Adam and Eve, chose to rebel against God and worship themselves instead.
As a result their very natures changed. This nature has been passed down to every generation. Now we are people walking around living the ways we want to live and still continuing to rebel against our Creator, God. We still want our way and not God’s way.
But God, knowing our rebellion, still decided to enter human history as the God-Man, Jesus Christ. He was fully God and fully Man. Jesus was born of a virgin, and He lived a perfect life praising, honoring, and glorifying God as a Man . He was tempted in every way we were tempted, yet He never succumbed to any of that temptation.
Even though He never did anything wrong, He went to the cross and substituted Himself for us. Our first parents substituted themselves for God in the garden, but Jesus, God, substituted Himself for humanity. Jesus took on the sins of you and many others, and this resulted in Him receiving the full wrath of God that we all deserve! Jesus was pronounced dead, and laid in a tomb for three days, but on the third day He rose from the dead finishing His defeat of sin and death.
Therefore, He commissioned the church to be missionaries to the whole world. The church is left here to tell people the good news that Jesus Christ accomplished, by His death and resurrection death is defeated, and all peoples can now be forgiven by God.
Jesus then ascended into heaven, and is seated on His throne. Jesus is alive and well. He is ruling over all nations and all cultures. Jesus is King of kings, and Lord of lords. Thus, Jesus commands all people everywhere to repent and receive the “good news” that Jesus Christ has come and made a way for people to come back to God. Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead, therefore, the church has authority, established by Christ Himself, to call all people to repent and believe.
Those who place their faith in the works of Christ, God, and not their own, will enjoy all eternity with Jesus Christ, Those who do not will be given over to what they want, their own way. They will be left to suffer with themselves and their decisions for the rest of eternity, burning in the Lake of Fire. The Bible names this place "Hell".
